Choosing A Frame The ultimate comfort and style guide Our helpful guide will advise you on
which style of frames will work best for you.
Try
to remember that comfort is very important when choosing new
frames, especially if you wear glasses daily. During a day to day
basis, you will make various facial changes such as smiling and
raising your eyebrows, therefore, your glasses should fit and be as
comfortable as your clothing.
Our optical frames
range from £25 to £89.
What
shape glasses are best for my face shape?
The two most important factors to consider when
selecting our frames is your face colouring and shape. To do this, we
recommend the following as a general rule of thumb, regarding the
shape of your face:
Rectangular glasses suit round
faces - avoid round frames.
Oval or round glasses suit
rectangular faces - avoid rectangular frames.
Long faces - should avoid
narrow glasses.
Short faces - should avoid high
glasses.
Oval faces are generally not
restricted.
To get the perfect frame colour for
you, we suggest it should be chosen to match your skin, hair tone or
your eye, clothing and jewellery colour. However, it is a personal
choice as it is down to you to choose the right colour frames that
you feel most comfortable in.
Further Information Frames should be no higher than the
line of your eyebrows, as the lower edge should not be sitting on
your cheeks, even when you smile. Frames should also be no wider than
the width of your face at the temples.
Longer noses should get low set
bridge frames, as this will help shorten it.
Short noses require a style with
a high set bridge, as this will be in line with the top of the frame.
Close-set eyes require a thin or
clear bridge frame, adding width between your eyes.
Wide-set eyes should get a
coloured bridge, as these will help your eyes appear closer together.
Square faces suit oval frames
the best, as if you have a broad, deep forehead with a wide jaw and
square chin, they will help soften your jaw line. We advise you to
avoid any frames that are thin, have angular styles with colour
emphasis on the bottom rim.
Round faces suit angular and
geometric styles the best. If you are short with a wide forehead,
full cheeks and a round chin, they help draw attention to the top
half of your face. We advise you should avoid all small, round styles
with large frames, as these can make your face look rounder.
Oval faces are well balanced and
softly rounded, which looks great in most styles of frames. So, why
not be adventurous and try a selection of modern geometric shapes,
which are both stylish and fashionable.
Long faces with high cheekbones
and a deep forehead will require wider frames, with a strong top
line. We suggest you opt for a style that has an all-over colour, as
you should avoid all frames that are small and square shaped.
Triangular face shapes that are
narrow at the forehead and eye line with a widen jaw line, are
advised to have bold, strong shaped frames to add balance to your
face. Small and narrow frames should be avoided.
Heart-shaped faces which have a
broad forehead that tapers to small, neat mouth and chin, are advised
to wear slender, rounded or square styles, without decorative detail
on the temples. We suggest avoiding styles that are wider at the top,
as these will reflect the shape of your face rather than balancing
it.
